Early Involvement = Low Cost Solution for Hard-Wearing Labels
The Client
Floorwise has served the flooring industry for 25 years and has grown to become one of the largest independent distributors of flooring products in Europe.
Each of the group’s distribution outlets stocks a vast range of floor laying materials and accessories.
The Problem
Floorwise’s MD contacted Advance Labels when to discuss labelling requirements for a new range of real wood flooring. The brief was for labels for showroom packs and this meant multiple combinations of labels in very small volumes (hundreds rather than thousands) for each product.
In addition, the labels needed to be hard wearing to cope with the samples being taken off site, man handled and potentially knocked about in transit.
And, because distributors would be required to purchase these labels from Floorwise, pricing needed to be competitive to meet their limited budgets for the project.
Our Solution
Fortunately, Advance Labels were approached early enough to discuss the label design with the Floorwise marketing team and provide input which would help to keep the production cost of the labels down.
We recommended a generic base label on a synthetic material, onto which variable data could be over printed in a white resin digital print process. We could then over-laminate the labels for added protection and reel them in rolls of 50, for easy distribution.
Advance Labels produced overs of the base stock, allowing Floorwise to call off extra labels in response to reorders from distributors.
